Mission
To improve the human condition through an evolved model of education that prioritizes raising consciousness, ethical development, capacity to reason and think critically, education for sustainability, and high level creative innovation.
“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans….”

Evolution . . .
There is no question that my values and life mission have been significantly shaped by growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attending college at San Francisco State University and Stanford University, decades of countless wilderness expeditions, practicing Vipassana meditation since high school, traveling the world, working as a professional musician/composer, artist, architecture student, education consultant, teacher, college professor, and father. One could say this all led to a deep commitment to the process of education as a means of societal transformation. This focus on education began nearly 30 years ago and I have never looked back.
This site serves as a portfolio that embodies my work over many years in education, work in which the No Boundary vision has been developed and applied. It also provides a guide to the services I offer to realize my vision going forward. There is no more important an endeavour than that of educating the next generation, and for that matter, the citizenry of our current generation. There has never been greater urgency to rethink what we take to be the purpose of education.
For those with “unfurnished eyes” (Emily Dickinson), it is clear we need to bring the world to a higher state of consciousness in order to gain insight into the reality that all of what humanity aspires to (economic vitality, social justice, planetary sustainability, “happiness”) is dependent on the health and well being of the natural systems of the Earth and the enlightenment of its human inhabitants. A new vision for what we take “education” to be must be embraced–a view that includes, if not prioritizes, raising consciousness. Nothing less than the future of humanity rests on this.
I invite you to browse the testimonials and gallery of work from students over the years who have been transformed by the emphasis of learning put forth in NBL, and please feel free to contact me with any questions, ideas, insights, or thoughts on the topic.
